JSTARC is known for its action packed tournaments, international level championships & unique Taekwondo training programs like Korea fest. In December 2015, JSTARC- Gujarat, headed by Master Pareshkumar Patel, under the able guidance of Technical Director and CEO Master Nilesh Jalnawala, organised the JSTARC Open’ 15 National Taekwondo Championship 2015. Present at the event work dignitaries like Mr. Pragnesh Patel (Billimora BJP President), Mr. Ashok Jalnawalla (President- JSTARC) & Mr. Shivjibhai Patel (President- Shree Somnath Mahadev Trust)

Team JSTARC Gujarat had taken the initiative to conduct this club level Championship & the event saw the participation of coaches, students, martial art athletes and taekwondo enthusiasts from many parts of India. The highlights of the event were the Demonstration Championship and exciting tournaments of Kyrougi (Sparring). The competitions were conducted adhering to international tournament and championship rules and regulations and followed the norms set by Kukkiwon and WTF. Another highlight of the event, apart from the demo championships was the inclusion of two categories Height-Belt category and Weight.

Masters from all over India along with their enthusiastic teams were present in large numbers. The Championship saw JSTARC Gujarat as the best overall team followed closely by Rose Rock Taekwondo Academy Punjab and in the 3rd place JSTARC Centre Kolhapur. One of the most popular parts of the event was the demonstration Championship. These Championships were introduced in India by JSTARC during their JSTARC OPEN TAEKWONDO GAMES held in 2009. Since then many Taekwondo teams in India have been pursuing demonstration techniques and thereby making demonstration competitions regular part of JSTARC mega Taekwondo events. JSTARC Open’15 had Rose Rock Taekwondo Academy emerge victorious with a power packed demonstration. JSTARC Gujarat with Coach Vimal Patel heading his team stood second while from the same Centre, the team headed by Coach Joju Nair stood third. The winners received medals, trophies and certificates.
When asked about the outcome of the event, a senior master commented, “It is indeed a healthy Championship between various clubs in India. With JSTARC conducting such events our students get a chance to display their skills. Competition with peers helps them compare their performance. I hope that we have such more of such Pan India events by JSTARC in the future.”

A winner from Kolhapur shares his thoughts with us, “I am glad to take up Taekwondo and it is both fun and also exciting to be a part of which events. I can meet children who like taekwondo from all over India and it gives me more inspiration to do better in the future.   I hope that we can have more of such Championships. ”

On the occasion of closing ceremony, the senior masters gave a wonderful demonstration of Taekwondo. It was indeed a happy moment for students to see their masters perform. Mr. Manoj Jalnawalla, founding member of JSTARC presented Master Pareshkumar Patel with a cheque of Rs. 1,00,000/- The funds will be utilized for the development & promotion of Taekwondo in Gujarat & nearby locations.

Master Nilesh Jalnawala, the mastermind and chief advisor on the event says, “I really thank Team Gujarat for conducting this wonderful event. Today Taekwondo is undergoing a lot of change and transformation all around the world. Kukkiwon & WTF are introducing many new aspects of the sport similarly many other experts & well known taekwondo centers around the globe are conducting championships on clubs, inter-state and national levels. This event is the stepping-stone to IMAC, our Mega Taekwondo event that is played on a national level and is officiated by national and international level referees, Taekwondo experts and grandmasters from Korea. Events like ‘JSTARC Open’ 15’ help athletes and coaches prepare themselves for bigger events like our program Koreafest. Koreafest are tours to Korea where selected team from India competes on international platforms. These students can perform better by exposing themselves to smaller level events like this club Championship and our national level events.  On such platforms, children can hone their skills and perform better & thereby win medals and great achievements for themselves in international competitions. It is my dream to have many more of such club level championships and state of art training programs with latest training modules and techniques to be held all over India. This will help us create a very proficient and highly competitive Team India to represent our country in the upcoming Championships and tournaments in Korea in 2016. Seeing the performance, dedication and focus on the children here at JSTARC Open’ 15’ 15, I am sure that we will be able to have a great team for this year’s Koreafest. My heartiest congratulations to all the winning athletes and teams. I also wish to convey my profound Thanks to all the coaches and Masters present at JSTARC Open’ 15 for putting their faith in us. I hope that they continue their support, so that we can bring the best of martial arts to the Indian audiences.”

Master Nilesh Jalnawala shared and A.V. of 2015 Koreafest Diary & announced the next attraction of 2016 Koreafest – Training with team MIEMI.
Master Paresh Kumar Patel whose team was the chief organizer of JSTARC Open’ 15 said a few words.  “The event, I feel that it was a great opportunity for us. Being Masters we have a duty towards our athletes & students to bring them quality level training as well as a platform where they can compare their skills and know what it takes to put up better better performances. I hope that this event was like by all so that we can organise more such events for the benefit of students and coaches around India in the future. We wish other coaches also organise such events at their hometowns so that they can become regular future. I hope that we could deliver our best with this event and hope to serve you in the future too.”
