Kukkiwon- The Taekwondo authority of S. Korea is known for its various initiatives to better the taekwondo practices around the world. One such recent program was the 2015 Invitational course for the Kukkiwon Poom/Dan promotion test examiner. This course was held at the Grand Hilton Hotel,Seoul, from July 26th to 29th 2015. It saw a participation of 169 masters from 50 countries who hold 7th, 8th or 9th Dan.
Keeping in mind the growing popularity of Taekwondo, Kukkiwon in the recent years has been considering various measures to make evaluation procedures fair, authentic & uniform. Similarly, they also want to maintain the quality of training & grading in the sport throughout the world. In congruence with the aims as mentioned, the main purpose of this invitational seminar was to re-instruct selected masters from various countries in the fair practices of evaluation during examination of Taekwondo. This seminar also took measures to ensure that only those masters who are Kukkiwon certified & qualified by Kukkiwon will be able to recommend & conduct tests. One other initiative started during the course was the establishment of KGN (Kukkiwon Global Human Network ).
Master Nilesh Jalnawalla is one of the senior masters from India, whom Kukkiwon had invited for this seminar. He comments, “It is an honour for me & JSTARC to have been invited to such an elite course. I am glad the efforts we have taken to ensure quality standards of Taekwondo & the fair practices we have upheld, have been noticed. I am greatly benefitted by this course & the informative discussions I was a part of. I feel that this duty entrusted to me by Kukkiwon is both a privilege & a responsibility. With this event to our credit, JSTARC has once again proven to be the premier most Martial Art Organisation in India. We will be implementing the latest changes & techniques instructed to me by Kukkiwon with immediate effect.”
